What does it take for an ordinary person to make extraordinary things happen? How does someone wake up one day and decide to make a difference in someone else’s life? I want to share with you how the vision for Noah’s HOPE Foundation took shape.
When my son Noah made his grand entrance into the world, life as I knew it has never been the same. I’ve been so inspired by this little person to the point where I cannot remember or imagine my life without him in it.
As a working woman from the Caribbean island of Haiti, I know what it means to experience the American dream through education. I have been able to compete and succeed on one of the world‘s great stages. Today, I am a business owner, a homeowner, and a mother; I feel compelled to Help Other People Excel (HOPE).
I was able to accomplish all of it with God’s guiding hands and also by knowing at an early age that the things you learn can never be taken away from you. I want to teach that to my son Noah. I also want him to have empathy for others who are less fortunate. I want him to know and understand that working for the common good should be a part of all our lives.
I wanted to find a way to honor my blessings, my son Noah and also teach him by example what I firmly believe in, that those of us who are fortunate, are responsible to help the less fortunate.
This is how the idea for Noah’s HOPE Foundation took shape during my 8th month of pregnancy. By simply investing in early childhood education, we can enable less fortunate children to attend school to learn lessons and gain skills that will enable them to succeed. What better place to start than from my home country of Haiti.
My vision for Noah’s HOPE Foundation is to provide the children of Haiti with a great start in life, which would require annual tuition, scholastic supplies, uniforms, medical examination, and a fulfilling breakfast. Needless to say, their needs are great, especially now with the past threehurricanes which decimated the island in August of 2008. With your contributions, Noah’s HOPE Foundation will prove that receiving an education is a basic human right, not a privilege. Let us put our collective hands together and enrich the lives of these children!
Thank you for supporting Noah’s HOPE Foundation and improving the lives of children through education.
